1. Project objectives

The population of Niamey, the capital of Niger, continues to grow, but there is no public transport available for its citizens, so most people without cars rely on very limited means of transport such as taxis, bicycles and motorcycles. As a result, traffic jams and accidents on the city's narrow roads cause great inconveniences to people's daily lives. In order to solve this problem, the "Niamey smart bus operation project" is proposed to adapt to the transportation equipment to the traffic conditions and environment in the city of Niamey.

1 The city's roads are in poor condition and narrow, making it difficult to operate the existing urban buses Kia PUV (public utility vehicle); Bus built and adapted for this purpose on a truck chassis (4x4)
2 Technical shortcomings of ordinary city buses (engine overheating in hot weather due to rear-mounted engine) Front-mounted engine: Since the engine is located at the front of the PUV, overheating does not occur, even at low speeds.
